Taking It to the Streets: Using History as a Tool for Community-Building
This thesis explores ways historical organizations can use history as a tool to develop projects that incorporate skill-building and foster a sense of place for underserved communities.
My case studies included curatorial projects that also had a mission of empowerment. Other sources of inspiration were artists that also promoted a sense of empowerment. These artist or projects include the work of JR Artist, Candy Chang and Project Rowhouses.
